Originally set out in 1894 and re-modelled in 1909 by Harry Colt, one of the most eminent course architects of that era, Dulwich & Sydenham Hill golf course provides a challenge to players of all abilities.
Relatively short by modern standards at just over 6100 yards, its main defence lies in the small undulating greens and trees that guard doglegs and approaches putting a premium on accuracy and touch over distance. In recent years the Club has made significant investment in drainage and irrigation to ensure the course is in prime condition whatever the season and in 2007 initiated a programme of further improvements to bunkers and tees. Bordered by ancient woodland, nature reserves and allotment gardens it is hard to believe that you are only 5 miles from the centre of London.
Occupying a position high on the side of Sydenham Hill, the clubhouse provides a panoramic view of the capital from Canary Wharf in the East to Hammersmith in the West and on a clear summer's day as far as Alexandra Palace in the North. The unmistakeable city skyline provides a perfect backdrop to drinks and a sandwich on the terrace or dinner in the Dining Room.
Our Club Professional and his team are at hand to provide any advice you may need, golf equipment or clothing you may require from his well stocked shop. Lessons are available to non-members by prior arrangement.
I hope that you find the opportunity to experience golf at Dulwich and look forward to welcoming you to the club. For further information please email info@dulwichgolf.co.uk
